Getting international development right: how to maximise aid impact

February 8, 2023

International aid is a key humanitarian and foreign policy tool of many governments around the world. Providing support to help countries develop is key to unlocking progress in addressing challenges such as climate change, biodiversity, and global health, as well as building resilience to humanitarian crises, and providing assistance to those in greatest need.

However, at a time of high inflation and constraints on public spending around the world, aid funding is under renewed pressure in many countries, and making sure money is spent effectively is a key concern. Effective funding helps make a difference to people’s lives across the world, as well as building the political and societal support for aid.

This webinar will look at how governments can achieve this. It will consider how to assess the potential impact of international development projects, how to manage them on the ground, and how to evaluate what has worked.

Join this session to find out:

  • How countries can make the most of international development budgets.
  • The challenges to measuring value in aid investments like infrastructure, and how to overcome them.
  • How doner and recipient countries can work together to make the money do most good.
