Finland: Raili Lahnalampi new chief of office in foreign ministry

Raili Lahnalampi has been appointed as the new chief of office by the Finnish foreign affairs minister Timo Soini.

Lahnalampi, who took up her post on 15 June, has served as committee counsel in the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament.

She has worked as policy coordinator in the Office of the OECD secretary general and as member of Harri Holkeri’s Cabinet during his presidency of theUnited Nations’ general assembly.

Her diplomatic career includes posts in Paris and New York and she has also gained practical work experience of development issues in Africa.

Lahnalampi is politically independent.
