Overview

Leadership skills are currently evolving rapidly. Senior leaders in the public and private sectors increasingly understand that top-down command and control never worked in the way its practitioners thought it did. Organisational resistance and low staff morale (and therefore low productivity and sub-optimal performance) have always been its direct results.

Individuals currently joining the employment market expect the organisations they work for to have proper values that they share, and flexible approaches to work and people. In many office-based sectors and roles, employees expect a level of respect and two-way communication (which involves listening and acting) that reflects new ways of interacting with your team, and thinking about your colleagues’ roles, contributions and wellbeing.

So how do you go about leading a team in this context, while ensuring that you get the buy-in you need from your staff to deliver your organisational goals with maximum motivation, productivity, quality and results?

This masterclass will take you through some of the skills, approaches and attitudes that you will find invaluable in striking the right balance. On the one hand you need to provide empowerment, agile iteration, individual motivation, and flexibility. On the other, you need to guarantee good performance, personal responsibility, sustained effort, assured quality and successful delivery.

Who is the seminar designed for?

The seminar is designed for managers and leaders at all organisational levels who want to bring your knowledge of M&L and your approach to managing your team up-to-date with some of the latest thinking, along with practical ways that you can successfully apply these ideas in your own teams and organisations in the developing 21st Century context of the evolving workplace.

How will you benefit from attending?

You will understand how the modern context of successfully leading organisations and teams has evolved to be more flexible, agile, iterative, motivational, values-driven and inclusive. You will understand how you can incorporate best practice in your interactions with the rest of your team, and how making some well-thought-through modifications to your leadership and management behaviours can help you to inspire and motivate your team, leading directly to improved productivity, higher quality output and enhanced wellbeing. All of which adds up to better results for you and your team.
