Overview
Organisational culture is a very strong influence on people’s professional behaviour. It can make working with people from other organisations or sectors very complex. We like people who think like us and who we find similar to us, as they mirror the behaviours that we find rewarding, and they share what motivates us and drives us. This can mean, however, that we sometimes find it difficult to make the effort to understand others who are different from us.
Both externally and even with different internal teams, this can have a significant impact on our ability to build strong professional relationships.
During the workshop, delegates will have the opportunity to explore drivers of behaviours. We will also use various communication models and theories to analyse, understand and identify how we can adapt our communication styles and our own behaviours to build and influence effective professional relations.
With the arrival of hybrid and remote working, relationship-building can be even more of a challenge, and the seminar will examine ways to tackle what we can do in these contexts, as well as in more traditional in-person relationship building.
Who is the seminar designed for?
This highly interactive training seminar is designed for all those who wish to improve their professional relationship-building skills, and to understand how other people, organisations, cultures and sectors see things in ways that may differ quite a lot from our own. It is aimed at anyone working with stakeholders of any kind.
How will you benefit from attending?
By attending this workshop delegates will be able to:
• Identify key stakeholders and identify the blockers to managing those relationships
• Communicate with other people, and influence others in order to build trust
• Understand personal drivers and how these come across through behaviour
• Describe how to adapt communication to match others’ styles to influence win-win outcomes
Learning Objectives
• Learn how to understand other people’s perspectives, and to adapt your thinking and behaviour to meet their needs
• Understand how to use communications more effectively to build relationships and interact more productively with stakeholders
• Understand how to apply specific techniques to build stronger professional relationships, both internally ad externally
• Learn a range of methods and approaches for building relationships generally, both in the context of in-person interaction, and also in the context of remote and hybrid working
