Elena Koutsavakis

Elena Koutsavakis is an experienced communications leader, facilitator, and event host, with more than 20 years of experience across government communications, leadership development and digital media.

She is the Owner and Chief Igniter of BOOM Strategies, an Ottawa, Canada-based facilitation, event-hosting and training company focused on leadership development and teambuilding. Through her work, Elena supports individuals and teams to unlock their potential, articulate and achieve career aspirations, and recognize the value they bring to their organizations. She has led teambuilding events, training seminars, retreats and symposiums for leaders and teams internationally.

Elena has held senior advisor and management roles across several Government of Canada organizations, including the Privy Council Office, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Department of National Defence, and Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

Her professional expertise includes strategic communications, social and digital media, media relations, crisis communications, change management and corporate communications. Elena is particularly passionate about helping leaders and teams build positive work environments where people feel motivated to succeed and is committed to strengthening organizational storytelling within the public service.

Elena holds a BA Honours (Magna cum laude) in Communications from the University of Ottawa.
