Good governance is necessary both for a cohesive society and as a fundamental framework for economic growth and its consequent increase in nationwide prosperity. Research shows that societies with more effective and accountable approaches to governance perform better on both economic and social indices.
Governance of a country (or a region or locality) involves many factors including accountability, efficiency, participation and transparency. This seminar will examine good governance principles and how these can be applied to all aspects of governing economies and societies.
Who is the seminar designed for?
The seminar is designed to provide a deep and practical analysis of governance principles and their application, as well as examining their relevance to economic growth and social cohesion. As such, it is of importance and relevance for people working at all organisational levels in government, as well as for staff in non-governmental organisations.
How will you benefit from attending?
You will benefit from exploring how to apply governance principles in a way that improves economic and social development. You will have a framework for considering how governance can be improved where you are, and how to implement these improvements. The insights from the seminar will support strategy and policy development in government.
