AccelerateGOV conference returns to spur digital transformation in government

AccelerateGOV is back for its second year, bringing together civil and public servants from around the world to Ottawa, Canada, on 3 October for an agenda packed with sessions on how best to promote digital transformation across government.
Hosted jointly by Global Government Forum and the Government of Canada, the free-to-attend conference will provide insights and ideas for digital and data specialists and those in a range of other public service professions – all with a focus on improved citizen services, streamlined government operations, and equipping public servants to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
The stellar list of speakers includes Canada’s Chief Information Officer, Catherine Luelo; Chief Data Officer, Stephen Burt; Director of Digital Talent at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Anna Wong; and a wealth of other digital and data leaders from the host country, as well as the US, UK, Singapore, Kenya, Spain and more.
Taking place at Ottawa’s Shaw Centre, the conference will cover all the big topics on realising the power of digital, with sessions on data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital skills, online service accessibility and user-centred design, supporting innovation and much more.

Catherine Luelo said: “To better serve Canadians in the digital age, we must modernize the way we deliver products and services within government. Innovation, collaboration, and right expertise applied in the right places will help us unlock the potential of digital technologies to improve policy and service delivery for the people we serve.
“To achieve this transformation, we must work together as one public service. AccelerateGOV 2023 is a unique opportunity for all those with an interest in shaping tomorrow’s government.
“Whatever your department, team or specialty, I hope you’ll join us in Ottawa on 3 October for this free, one-day event.”
AccelerateGOV dovetails with the Global Government Digital Summit, an invite-only roundtable event which brings together national and departmental digital chiefs from across the globe for open, informal discussion on the opportunities and challenges around public sector digital transformation.
Taking place on the 3rd and 4th of October, Summit participants include Catherine Luelo and Stephen Burt as noted above, plus Deputy Director of Government Digital Capability at the UK Cabinet Office, Thomas Beautyman, the Deputy Chief Executive of Singapore’s Government Technology Agency, Chang Sau Sheong, and other leaders from more than 20 countries.
