Civil servants in government make many decisions every day. From policy officials working to develop responsive services that meet users’ needs, to frontline officials who have to make choices on what tax cases to prioritise, the work of government requires the skills to make effective decisions.

To explore how government officials can make better decisions, Global Government Forum brought together public and private sector experts from four countries to discuss how data and AI can be used to drive confident decision making.

Listen to this podcast to find out how public servants are embedding data in workflows to make decision-making easier, the opportunity for data literacy training to improve skills in government, and the role of AI agents in boosting productivity and efficiency.

The podcast also sets out the initial findings of a Global Government Forum survey of public servants on how effective they and their organisations are at data-driven decision making.

Listen to the episode in full – and look out for an upcoming report with knowledge partner SAS that sets out the survey findings in more detail.

The podcast is based on the ‘Confident decision-making for better outcomes in government’ webinar, hosted by Global Government Forum with knowledge partner SAS on 17 June. Find out more and watch the webinar in full here.
