2020 marks the 10th anniversary of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants’ (ACCA’s) International Public Sector Conference – a flagship event for the public sector, globally. In recent years, the conference has been held in Singapore, South Africa, and Czech Republic – but this year will be delivered virtually and is available for any public finance professionals to join the global conversation.

This year’s theme is ‘Reinvigorating the public sector – transformation through crisis’. We will hear from prominent public sector speakers from across the world on the forces that are shaping the sector at this unprecedented time.
When is it happening?
The conference will take place online on December 4th 2020 and will run from 8am to 6pm GMT. The event is free to attend this year and sessions will also be available on-demand after the conference.
ACCA’s Professional Insights team will be launching their brand-new report on New Models of Public Procurement at the event – providing participants an opportune moment to discuss this critical issue during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Who will we hear from?
The conference will be opened by Helen Brand (ACCA’s Chief Executive), Mark Millar (ACCA’s incoming President) and Alan Johnson (incoming President for the International Federation of Accountants). Speakers will include Alta Prinsloo (incoming Chief Executive of the Pan-African Federation of Accountants), Ross Smith (Technical Director of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board) and Vicky Rock (Director of Public Spending and Deputy Head of the UK Finance Function).
Who is it for?
The conference is open to all finance professionals interested in the public sector. ACCA members can use this learning to meet their CPD requirements provided it is relevant to their career (up to 9 CPD units).
